The challenge
A note becomes a task. A habit contributes to a goal. Those connections shouldn’t need a separate integration every time. DailyOS puts eleven everyday modules over one shared schema.
One connected workspace
The app combines notes, tasks, projects, calendar, habits, goals, analytics, study mode, a focus timer, a doodle canvas, and a developer log. Notes support rich text, a sketch pad, and a freeform canvas on the same record.
Under the surface
Prisma sits over Neon Postgres, while file bytes live in MongoDB GridFS. Keeping large attachments out of frequently read database rows separates document metadata from heavier content. Authentication uses Auth.js, and the application runs on Vercel behind Cloudflare.
What I’d do differently
Eleven modules sharing one schema was useful. Designing 34 Prisma models before a single day of real use was not. Next time I would start with three modules, live in them for a month, and let actual use shape the schema.
Care about what people see.
Care just as much about what they don’t.
